Motorists are being warned that thieves are attempting to steal cars on test drives. When cars have been advertised for sale in car buying magazine AutoTrader, a man, pretending to be an interested buyer, has arranged to meet the seller to test drive the car and has then driven off in the vehicle. Three offences have taken place since the 18 April in Lichfield, South Staffordshire and Cannock. Please be alert if you are selling your car, and if you do have an unusual meeting with a prospective buyer, then report it to us on 101.
