Car-jacking in Norton Canes

 

A man was assaulted and had his car stolen after he stopped to help what appeared to be two teenagers in distress.

The 45-year-old man, from Heath Hayes, Cannock, was driving along Lime Lane, close to the junction with Wyrley Lane, near Norton Canes, at around 3.15pm on Monday 23 April when he saw two boys laid in the road with two others standing over them.

When he stopped and went to ask if they needed help, all four youths began verbally abusing him and then physically assaulted him before snatching his car keys and stealing his car. The victim was not seriously injured but suffered soreness and swelling to his face.

The stolen car is a black coloured Renault Clio with the registration number HK13 HKH.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has seen the car since or has any information, is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 386 of 23 April. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
