Biker seriously hurt after after horror smash with car in Hagley Road, Birmingham

Medics administered specialist-trauma care to a biker after a horror smash with a car on a major Birmingham road.
Emergency crews – from West Midlands Ambulance and West Midlands Police – descended on Hagley Road after the smash at around 8.30pm on Thursday, June 20.
The biker – a man – suffered ‘multiple, serious injuries’ and was transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.
The busy road that connects Birmingham to the Black Country was blocked off while as medics worked at the scene, an eyewitness revealed.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to Hagley Road – at the junction of Sandon Road – following nine emergency calls reporting a collision between a car and a motorbike.
“We sent one ambulance, a paramedic support officer and a merit trauma doctor to the scene.
“Crews treated one patient – a man – for multiple, serious injuries and transferred him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham on blue lights.
“The doctor travelled on the back of the ambulance to continue treatment.”
West Midlands Police has been contacted for comment.
