A railway bridge on a busy Cannock road will be closed for four days this week, according to an official roadworks website.
The website www.roadworks.org says part of Walsall Road in Cannock town centre will be closed between Tuesday and Saturday this week (June 4-8).
The closure has been managed by Staffordshire county Council so Network Rail can carry out essential works to a railway bridge.
A document states: “The Staffordshire County Council (“the Council”) being the highway authority for A34 Walsall Road in Cannock is satisfied that the traffic on the said road in the District of Cannock Chase should be restricted by reason of works in connection with vegetation and bridge sign replacement works being executed or proposed to be executed therein.
“No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed in that length of A34 Walsall Road in Cannock so much as passes by and is in the direct vicinity of the railway bridge for a distance of approximately 25 metres either side.”
