Drink drive arrest as car hits ambulance on 999 call in Cannock Road, Wolverhampton

A suspected drink driver has been arrested after a car ‘ploughed into an ambulance’ on an emergency call.
The 25-year-old man, who has not been named, was detained after the two-vehicle smash in Cannock Road, Wolverhampton, on Saturday, September 7.
An eyewitness told Black Country Live that the ambulance was conveying a patient as they collided at around 11pm.
No injuries were sustained but part of the road was blocked, a spokesman for West Midlands Police said.
A spokesman for the force said: “A 25-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a collision between a car and an ambulance on blue lights in Cannock Road, Wolverhampton, last night (Sept 7) just after 11pm.
“No injuries were sustained in the collision and the man remains in custody.”
