Driver arrested in Birmingham after leading police on 50 mile chase

A motorist led police on a chase for over 50 miles this morning.
The Staffordshire Police Response unit and the Central Motorway Policing Group swooped into action amid reports of a burglary.
Cops swept on the car on the morning of Friday, September 13.
The vehicle was chased from Cannock, in Staffordshire, for over 50 miles as police responded after receiving reports of a burglary.
The reports suggested two vehicles had been stolen, StokeonTrentLive reports.
Officers have now taken to social media to confirm one man has been arrested.
A Staffordshire Police Response spokesman said: “Arrest [made] following a burglary in Cannock whereby two vehicles were stolen.
“We have just had a lengthy pursuit with a vehicle which continued for over 50 miles before it was safely brought to a stop in Birmingham with support from the Central Motorway Policing Group.
“One male has been arrested.”
