Four weapon-wielding masked men burst into a Rugeley home and attacked the occupants during a violent burglary.

The gang forced their way into the property in Speechly Drive at around 10.15pm last night (Thursday, September 12).

They were armed with a firearm and a baton as they threatened and assaulted a man and a woman, who were inside the home.

They were left with minor injuries as a result but did not require hospital treatement.

It is not known if anything was taken during the burglary, which Staffordshire Police has described as an “isolated incident”.
