Police investigating after man 'pulled down trousers' of young boy at Stoke-on-Trent park

Police are investigating after a man reportedly pulled down the trousers of a young boy at a Stoke-on-Trent park.

Officers received a call at 6.10pm reporting a ‘suspicious’ incident involving a man in his 20s at  Burslem Park .

A group of young boys, aged around 12, were approached by a man who began chatting with them before appearing to try taking one of their scooters.

But before leaving the scene, the man pulled down the trousers of one of the boys.

Staffordshire Police  spokeswoman confirmed an investigation into the incident had been launched.

She said: “We received a call at around 6.10pm yesterday reporting a suspicious incident in Burslem Park.

“A group of boys, aged around 12, were approached by a man in his 20s who engaged them in conversation and then appeared to make an attempt to take one of their scooters.

“He also pulled down the trousers of one of the boys before he left.

“Inquiries are being made to try to establish the identity of the man. Anyone with any information is asked to ring 101 quoting incident 587 of June 5.”
