Woman dies after being found mysterious injuries at Cannock roadside

A woman who was found critically injured at a roadside in Cannock has died in hospital, it has been confirmed.
The woman, who was in her 50s, was found in Belt Road, Hednesford , with serious injuries at around 3.40am on Saturday (August 17).
She was treated by an ambulance crew and transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where she died in the early hours of Sunday (August 18).
Detectives are still unsure how the woman suffered her injuries and said they need to investigate further to understand what happened.
A spokesman from Staffordshire Police said: “She is not yet being named and detectives are still investigating the circumstances around her death which are not yet understood.
“Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything or has dash-cam or CCTV footage in the area to come forward.”
